A flavour brought home to the Lakes
A jar of raspberry honey we discovered on our honeymoon stayed with us long after we came home. Back in Burneside, Cumbria, we began experimenting, and those first batches became The Lakes Infusion Co.

THE DISCOVERY
The flavour we couldn’t forget
On our honeymoon in Croatia in May 2025, we tasted raspberry honey for the first time. It was vivid, fragrant and unlike anything we had tried before, with a bright fruitiness and sweetness that felt beautifully balanced.
It was one of those unexpected discoveries that becomes part of the memory of a place. By the time we returned to Cumbria, we knew it was a flavour we wanted to explore.
THE ROOTS
The roots were already there
The flavour was new, but making and sharing food had always felt familiar.
Chris grew up in Windermere in the Lake District, where his parents ran Ivy Bank B&B. Family days out often meant picking blackberries, gathering sloes for gin or collecting crab apples for jelly. Ingredients came home with the family and became something to keep, serve or share. Growing up around hospitality also meant seeing, close up, the care and hard work behind a small business.
After more than ten years teaching English in Spain, Dubai and Peru, Chris met Kevin in Peru. Kevin ran his own interior design business there, bringing a creative eye and first-hand experience of building an independent business. We lived in Peru together for eight years before returning to the UK.
Between us, the roots of the business were already there: a love of flavour, an eye for design and an understanding of the work involved in creating something of your own.

BRINGING IT HOME
From an idea to the first jar
Back in Burneside, we began with small batches, adjusting the ratios and tasting each version until the balance felt right. Raspberry Infused Honey came first. It was followed by more infused honeys, flavoured olive oils, balsamic vinegars, sugars and finishing salts.
Our first market was the Ambleside Christmas Lights switch-on in November 2025. It was the first time those jars had left the kitchen and met their customers, and the moment an experiment began to feel like a real business.
From the beginning, our aim has been simple: to create distinctive but balanced flavours that are as useful in the kitchen as they are enjoyable to taste.

Brings his design experience to the brand, photography and social media.

Opened her Burneside kitchen to help us turn the idea into a business. The range is still made and bottled there by hand.
GREAT TASTE 2026
The first flavour comes full circle
Raspberry Infused Honey was our first product and remains our best seller. In 2026, less than a year after we began, it received one star at Great Taste following independent blind judging by the Guild of Fine Food.
The judges praised its colour and clarity, its “true raspberry flavour” and the balance between the fruit and honey. Seeing the flavour that started the business described as “simply delicious” made the recognition feel especially personal.
The award and the story behind it were featured in The Westmorland Gazette and Lancaster Guardian.
Taste the flavour that started it all
Our Raspberry Infused Honey combines smooth acacia honey with raspberries for a clear berry character and beautifully balanced sweetness. Drizzle it over waffles, yoghurt or ice cream, stir it into a hot drink, or enjoy it straight from the spoon.
It is the flavour that started the business, and the first product in our range to receive a Great Taste star.

Markets remain one of our favourite parts of the business. They give us the chance to share the range, meet returning customers and hear how people are using our products at home.
