Our Story

Crafted in Burneside, inspired by the Lake District.

Every jar and bottle from The Lakes Infusion Co. begins in a small kitchen in Burneside, on the edge of the Lake District. It’s here that simple ingredients, patient methods and a love of flavour come together to create our small-batch honeys, vinegars and oils.
The roots of this story stretch back to Christopher’s childhood in Windermere, where his family ran a B&B. Days often ended with sticky fingers from blackberry picking, baskets of sloes destined for gin, or crab apples gathered from hedgerows for jelly.

Those early rituals — gathering, making, sharing — sparked a lifelong fascination with how everyday ingredients can be transformed with time and care.

Experimenting with early infusions on the kitchen counter, Christopher found himself drawn to the slow creativity of the process — adjusting ratios, warming honey gently for hours, letting botanicals rest until the balance felt just right.

What began as simple curiosity soon became a practice shaped by family tradition, patience and the rhythm of the Lakes.

Today, production begins in the family kitchen Christopher shares with his mum. From recipe testing to bottling, it remains the heart of our small-batch craft.

Each infusion takes shape over days rather than minutes, guided by intuition, honest ingredients and a deep connection to place.

How We Create

Small Batch Craft

Every batch is infused and bottled by hand in Burneside. Working on a small scale allows us to develop clarity and depth of flavour, respond to the unique character of each ingredient and uphold the quality we believe great food deserves.

Natural Ingredients

We choose ingredients for their purity, flavour and integrity. Nothing artificial ever goes in — just real berries, botanicals, herbs and spices, carefully balanced to let each note shine.

Inspired by Place

The landscape around us shapes everything we make: the colours, the scents and the rhythm of the seasons. We infuse slowly to create flavours that feel honest to the Lakes and generous to the people who enjoy them.

Our Values

  • We believe in taking our time. Each infusion rests for as long as it needs, developing naturally without shortcuts or unnecessary intervention. Our approach is shaped by patience, family tradition and a respect for simple ingredients.
  • Creativity, honesty and a sense of place guide everything we do. Our flavours are rooted in the Lakes and shaped by the people who help bring them to life — from Christopher’s mum, who lends her kitchen and support, to his husband Kevin, whose creativity and eye for design help carry the brand forward.
  • Above all, we want our work to feel generous. Something to drizzle, share and gift. Something that connects people to flavour, to place and to one another.

Meet Christopher

Founder and maker at The Lakes Infusion Co., Christopher blends a lifelong love of flavour with the quiet creativity of small-batch craft. His earliest influences came from family life in the Lakes — berry-stained fingers, homemade preserves and kitchen tables full of simple ingredients waiting to become something special.

Before starting the business, Christopher spent over a decade teaching languages, a chapter that shaped his patience, attention to detail and belief that beautiful things happen when you take your time.

Now based in Burneside, he carries those same values into every batch, creating thoughtful, uplifting flavours inspired by the landscape he grew up in.
