Every jar and bottle from The Lakes Infusion Co. begins in a small kitchen in Burneside, on the edge of the Lake District. It’s here that founder Christopher Clothier brings together his love of flavour, family, and the place that has always inspired him.
Christopher’s earliest food memories come from his family’s B&B in Windermere. Family days often ended with sticky fingers from blackberry picking, or hands full of sloes destined for homemade gin. Crab apples gathered from hedgerows became jelly in the family kitchen, with everyone involved in the process. Those experiences sowed the seeds of a lifelong passion for transforming simple ingredients into something special.

Before starting The Lakes Infusion Co., Christopher spent over a decade teaching languages. That chapter shaped his eye for detail and his belief that the best things happen when you take your time, whether learning a new skill or perfecting an infusion.
Today, production begins in Burneside, in the family kitchen Christopher shares with his mum. From recipe testing to bottling, it’s the heart of our small-batch infusions, from infused honeys to flavoured oils and balsamic, where that same spirit of family effort continues.
Family remains at the centre of the business. Christopher’s mum lends her kitchen and her support, while his husband Kevin brings creativity and a sharp eye for design. Together they’ve built a company that blends artisan craft with the warmth of home.
At its heart, The Lakes Infusion Co. is about connection, to food, to place, and to the people who make it meaningful.
As we head into our first Christmas markets, we’re excited to share not just our products, but the story behind them.
